Founded in 1898, Snead State Community College is located in Boaz, AL, and is the oldest two-year school in the state to award the Associate's Degree. At SSCC, we are small enough to know your name, but large enough to shape your future.

Snead State Community College has received a grant for the second year from the Women's Foundation of Alabama. This project provides scholarships to help women jumpstart their career pathway to create economic security that passes from one generation to the next. Students learn soft skills and career-specific training, gaining credentials such as Alabama Career Essentials, Certified Production Technician, Digital and Financial Literacy, Precision Measurement, and more. We assist students with wrap around services through a network of resources and community partners, including family centered coaching, health and well-being support, childcare assistance and job placement, and weekly gas cards.
